Villa #1
Villa 1 is a three storey family residence in Abdullah Al Salem defined by layered volumes and a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional mashrabiya. The street facing façade is articulated through an undulating screen that overlays two protruding masses, providing shade and privacy while softening the building’s geometric form.
Controlled openings within the central volume allow daylight to penetrate a double height reception sequence, creating visual connections across intersecting spaces. The interior is organized around a sculptural staircase that rises through the house, its curvilinear form intentionally contrasting the overall rigidity of the architecture.
A restrained palette of light surfaces is complemented by dark wood accents, reinforcing the dialogue between fluid and structured elements and shaping a refined yet livable family home.
