Arch Mosque
Arch Mosque is conceived as a sequence of arched walls that unfold gradually to form an exterior colonnade and shaded approach, framing the act of arrival as part of the worship experience. This layered threshold establishes a calm transition from the surrounding context into the sacred space.
At the entrance, a landscape gesture of five palm trees references the five pillars of Islam, offering shade while introducing a symbolic anchor to the approach. As worshippers move inward, the architectural elements, most notably the arches, progressively increase in scale and presence, reinforcing the spiritual journey toward the Qibla wall.
The project balances contemporary expression with traditional spatial principles, using repetition, proportion, and procession to shape a mosque that is both symbolically grounded and experientially modern.
